Will you explain how Napoleon was paid as the Emperor.
Was he assigned lands and estates of his own and the money they generated was his? These land and estates would however be granted to his successor in the government and not be his family's property outright?
Did the French Government vote on his salary every year as part of a constitution or other government act?
Did Napoleon set his own budget and then request the money from the Government?
Was he granted an operating budget to pay for his servants, palaces, coaches, etc.? Was this above what he received as his pay?
If I understand you correctly Napoleon had a personal fortune as well as a government fortune which would be given to any successor as head of the French Government.
