Hi Kevin,

I agree with your overview of the Russian situation, what more could he have achieved by staying to the bitter end?. Perhaps some might say he should have sacrificed himself for some greater noble cause or to ease his suffering of the burden of the death so many commrades and soldiers, no that would be nonsense, any commander and since he was head of state, would at some point see the futility of carrying on and leave the command to a subordinate, that is what they are for, and try to raise a new army to carry on the fight as necessary.

I also agree with Howies statement about the forum, that just because polarized views are aired it dosn't mean they are valueless, vive l'differance.
