As forum members probably know, Napoleon documentary is airing today on History Channel. I already watched first three hours and greatly enjoyed commentaries of our friends, especially of David Markham and Digby Smith -congratulations on the series.
However, I also noticed a few mistakes in the program. Dates are often off mark, thus Eylau is fought on 6 February, Tilsit Treaty is signed on 3 July, La Corunna is fought on 11 January and etc. Maps are sometime offkey as well (Austerlitz map showed only three corps and in those Lannes was on the right flank).
Finally, a comment on Blanning's commentary - he keeps driving the message that Napoleon is solely responsible was the wars, with statements like "I do not believe Napoleon was capable of peace." Oh yeah, and the British were...
Anyways, I am interested in hearing your thoughts. Meantime, off to watch the rest of series :)
