Rory,
there's a couple of examples of 1st/95th officers who got this 'blood money' in Rifles - ie Fitzmaurice and Cox. They talk about a year's pay and don't specify the amount. I'm assuming they would say something if it were only a fraction of the full whack but maybe that's a false assumption...
