I did a search of the web and found various references to Napoleon's ailurophobia. How trustworthy the accounts are is of course debateable. However, one story says that shortly after Wagram, shouts for help were heard from Napoleon's room. Servants entered to find him slashing at tapestries, attempting to skewer a cat who was hiding behind them. Another story says that one of the marshals' wives (Mme. Suchet?) being able to get her own way by distracting the Emperor by introducing cats into the conversation.
No idea of the accuracy of the stories though!
