I am not surprised at all that people felt fatigue and weariness in Nap's time. I have no problem whatsoever with people becoming attached to their comforts etc. after being involved in war for so long - I was merely mentioning that they did. Incidently, the points in your post are all well-thought out and accurate (in my opinion).
