FRENCH COLONEL BAUSSAIN, GOVERNOR OF RONDA

Hi,

During the Peninsular War, the inhabitants of the little town of Cartajima were distinguished theirself in the fight against the Napoleonic troops in Malaga (Andalucia), specially the guerrilla Andrés Garcia, who killed in 1811 the governor of Ronda, during a walk with its escort in the "Tajo" of Ronda.

The French governor of Ronda was then the Colonel Baussain (I believe Jean-Claude Baussain, Baron Haute-Saône) but I can't find any more info on the subject or any biographical sketch for Baussain. Who was? Which was his Regiment? &c, &c...

I'll thank any little help,

Best regards,

Juan
