24 May, old style, or 6 June, new style. Sir Robert Wilson accompanyied part of the cossack force and mentions the contingent that made the deeper raid. Wilson's version (vol 2, page 248) states the baggage was Ney's (this is one reason why Bennigsen, when he writes his memoirs, quotes so many reports by Ney). - R
