Re: staff needed for artillery
In Response To: Re: staff needed for artillery ()

Dear Paco
The British would be using for a siege
18-pdrs and 24-pdrs [originally bronze but soon replaced by cast iron guns]
10in and 13in mortars
68-pdr Carronades
8in Mortars

Adye (1806) gives the duties of each person.

The French would be using
M1775 16-pdrs and 24-pdrs
M1795 Short 24-pdrs
AnXI Short 24-pdrs
8-pouce howitzers
Various mortars of 8 to 12 pouce.

The manning would be about the same as I have given. I can look it up if required tomorrow.

Stephen
