Deduction of One Day's Pay for Chelsea Hospital

One of the "common knowledge" about the British soldier during the Napoleonic Wars is that one day's pay was deducted from their pay per year to help support Chelsea Hospital. I have come across two sources that state in 1797, the King decreed that no soldier or officer below the rank of captain would have a day's pay taken out for Chelsea Hospital.

Can anyone point me to a source that states that they did after 1797?

Thanks!

Bob
