Can't speak for the other nations, but the French Army had a basic backpack by the mid eighteenth century, apparently in use alongside the older haversack - that is to say, some units seem to have worn one and some the other, not that each man wore both. Spontoons and halberds went out in the 1750s, with longarms being issued instead.
