Many thanks, David. Yes, my Mum was also afflicted with TB in her early years, & spent some time in a sanitorium. According to the 'London Times', James Alexander Duff died at Sidmouth, Devon, 16 Jan 1800. aged 23. By so doing, he missed-out on his inheritance from his uncle, Lord Fife.
