I'm under no illusions about Napoleon. Like all men (and women) he has many sides and I'm interested in learning about all of them. I have no preconceived notion of whether to vilify or worship him. Like most people, I think we can find a balance between appreciating his admirable qualities and denouncing his excesses. I admire Churchill quite a bit but he was a bit of a snob and a bully at times and I think, despite all he did for England, that he genuinely enjoyed playing at war.
