Hello Pat,

See the picture in one of my previous replies. This is the best drawing of the uniform. Only forget the white leatherwork, cowhide backpack and greatcoat. This was issued to them upon return after capitulation. Except for the buttons, the uniform was the same for the 4 bataillions.
Due to the very warm climate the wool uniforms were stored and only used on special occassions. Instead the wore linnen jackets etc. The leather cap; see link:

The normal black leatherwork was their equipement so they had to use it with their off-white hot climate uniform.
