I am a little concerned that Brissot, who is making a very rare appearance on this forum is being badly served by your post. His attempts at racial equality were entirely laudable, entirely correct and still not fully implemented today. The man was a hopeless idealist but to bracket him with Bush and Blair (I have rejected all the negative adjectives I can think of for that pair as too weak. I hope future historians will have a more apt, brutal vocabulary.)- to bracket him in the same category as them is, in my opinion, besmirching the poor man's reputation and his place in history.
