What I was saying is that Grouchy got his title restored as part of a general reinstatement of the ranks and awards made during the 100 days, I don't think there was any discrimination in it. It would have taken forever (as we find) to start weighing up the various individual contributions to the campaign and no-one wanted to open that can of worms!

I imagine a lot of people had furiously downplayed their part in events afterwards and might have been embarrassed to be confronted with their letters of excuse - see the defence pleas of Drouot & Cambronne for instance
