I didn't mean you, Digby - it was Kevin, in his reply on 7/1/2015 at 7.48 am, to my post re Gueniffey, Bonaparte. He took exception to the fact that I had mentioned the Nazi Einsatzgruppen and seemed to think I was making a comparison between them and Napoleon's actions. That was not the case at all - I was simply making the point that not everything that happens in wartime can be written off as 'stuff happens in warfare' as someone else seemed to be suggesting. I explained this but Kevin would not accept it; he went on to say, 'using the German atrocities as an example for this period is both inaccurate and intellectually dishonest'. I strongly object to that (especially as I was not using the German atrocities as a direct example - I don't know why it's so difficult to grasp that!). I mentioned it in my last post because it seems to me rather rich for someone accusing another person of intellectual dishonesty to object at a later date to ad hominem remarks by a third party!
