Can't agree with any of your excuses for Napoleon. He was the root instigator for all of those wars. To pretend that N. was only a man of peace who was innocent until attacked is nonsensical.
Again, your blame of Napoleon only for the dead is quite a stretch and is incorrect-in your words, it is nonsense.
And, I never stated that Napoleon was "only" to blame for the millions of deaths that occurred during his deadly career, but, in the history of war, Napoleon certainly stands near the top of the list for having blood on their hands.
However, I think that we can completely agree that it is wrong when people write polemics about historical figures they have not properly studied and then come to outrageously-biased conclusions, searching for and then writing only of the negatives and completely ignoring any positive, which, of course, is exactly what you did with Sir Sidney Smith at the start of this thread.
