French artillery companies took the field with one caisson per piece, although the companies were assigned more. Those in excess of one per piece were used to shuttle ammunition forward when necessary from the parcs. Some French artillery had to be left behind, such as some of Davout's, because of a shortage of horses.

I haven't seen anything which indicates a particularly heavy expenditure of artillery ammunition at Austerlitz.
