Imperial Glory Receives INS Award

David and Barbara Markham join Lionel Leventhal of Greenhill Books at the opening of Markham’s book, Imperial Glory.

Imperial Glory: The Bulletins of Napoleon’s Grande Armée 1805-1814, by J. David Markham, has been awarded the President’s Choice Award by Ben Weider, President of the International Napoleonic Society. The book, published in London in 2003 by Greenhill Books, is the first-ever complete and accurate translation of Napoleon’s Bulletins, as well as of numerous additional important documents. In giving the award, President Weider praised the quality of Markham’s research and analysis, saying that the book “has made a significant contribution to Napoleonic Studies.” Imperial Glory has received numerous favorable reviews worldwide, as has Markham’s other recent book, Napoleon’s Road to Glory: Triumphs, Defeats and Immortality (London: Brassey’s, 2003).
