Welcome to the sixth issue of the War of 1812 Magazine, and to our second year of publication.

The year 2007 marks a significant milestone as with the anniversary of the Chesapeake-Leopard Affair on June 22^nd marks the countdown to the bicentennial of the War of 1812. Many museums, institutions and organizations across North America and in Britain are planning events to commemorate this event and over the next few years, we will undoubtedly see a whole series of books and perhaps even documentaries on the subject of this fascinating conflict. There are so many facets of the War of 1812 requiring study and it is hoped that the upcoming anniversary will spark many people interested in the war to undertake new projects and share the results with our readers.

I would again like to thank all of our contributors for providing material for this issue. We look forward to future articles, reviews and material from others.
