Crysler’s Farm Collectibles: Material Culture Related to the Battle of 11 November 1813

By Henry Neale

I have been collecting Crysler's Farm medals and related War of 1812 artifacts for some 28 years now and am please to provide images of a few unusual items that many readers may not have seen before.

A souvenir flag from the 1913 Centennial celebrations (size 7.5 inches x 12.5 inches), with the original mast. A small gilt badge for the 1913 celebrations (stamped BIRKS-GILT on the back). Size 19 mm x 27 mm. The Order of the Bath Stall Plate of Lt.Col. John Harvey who was second in command at the Battle of Crysler's Farm in 1813.  This stall plate is one of only two known to me that actually have the word CANADA on them. A very informative article about stall plates was published in the online War of 1812 magazine by Jay Medves. The stall plate illustrated in the above article was awarded to a soldier who served in Canada although the C.B. in question was not awarded for service in Canada.
