7. Holcroft’s Company, RA was awarded the Honour Title of  ”Niagara” 1 October 1816.  The company was disbanded 31 January 1819 as J. Brome’s Company, 4th Battalion. In 1969, the 116 Field Battery (raised 1898 as 20 Company Western Division Royal Garrison Artillery) was renamed the 52 (Niagara) Battery to perpetuate a famous name in the regiment. Today a part of the 19th Regiment Royal Artillery, 52 Battery is scheduled to be disbanded January 2005.
