To the north, with the village of Shevardino at center right of the image.

To just east of north. Shevardino village is at the left edge of the frame.

Towards the French monument and the site of Napoleon's Headquarters during Borodino, and the general direction towards Bagration's flèches.

To the east, towards the Russian positions at the subsequent battle.

To the east-southeast, roughly towards the village Utitsa.
