Waterloo Tour: On The French Right FlankBy Fons Libert, FINS These pictures were taken standing on the fields where the I Corps of General Drouet d'Erlon stood. In 1815 these field were filled with crops so what you see now isn't what d'Erlons soldiers saw.
View North-NortheastOn the left of the picture you can see Papelotte and on the right a part of La-Haie.
View NortheastThis picture shows the direction from which the Prussians came. In the middle of the picture behind the woods lies Frichermont and the big woods in the background is the "Bois de Paris."
View NorthwestYou can see La-Haie-Sainte's rooftops and the position of the Allied Squares (now the Lion's Mount" in this picture. It was approximately along this line that Ney led the French heavy cavalry in a series of unsupported attacks against those squares.
