Waterloo Tour: In And Around La-HaieBy Fons Libert, FINS
View EastThese pictures were taken from the Ohain road near Papelotte looking east to La-Haie. The terrain on this side of the battlefield hasn't changed much since 1815, the Ohain road is even sunken like it was in 1815 near La-Haie.
View WestThese pictures were taken on the edge of La-Haie which is nothing more than a couple of houses. They are looking west to the centre of the Allied line.
View SouthTaken from the same spot as the previous pictures but looking south. The French came from this side and took La-Haie which was defended by Nassau troops. It was here that the Prussians opened fire on the Nassauers because they mistook them for French.
