Note:

1. Side = number of shot in one side at the base of the pile.

2. Content = number of shot in the pile.

3. Rule for finding the number of shot in a triangular pile: Multiply the base by the base + 1. Then multiply this product by the base + 2. Divide the result by 6. For example:

To find the number of shot in a triangular pile with 6 balls at the base:

(6) X (6 + 1) = 42
42 X (6 + 2) = 336
336 / 6 = 56
