Drieberg, George De (Ernst Georg von Drieberg, 1747 - 3 January 1832)

Styled George De Drieberg only while in British Service.

Entered Hanoverian Army 1766,  Captain 1783, Major 1794, Lieutenant Colonel 9th Infantry Regiment 1797. Joined British Service in 5th Line Battalion King's German Legion 1804Temporary rank of Colonel 1804, Brigadier General on the Staff 1808.  Left British Service on pension 1810.

Early service: Flanders 1793. Commanded brigade KGL Home Staff 1806, brigade KGL Copenhagen 1807,  brigade KGL Sweden 1808.

Portugal & Spain: Commanded  brigade KGL Portugal 1808-1809.

Peninsular War: Commanded brigade KGL April - June 1809. Invalided home due to ill health 1809.

Colonel-Commandant of the 5th Line Battalion King's German Legion 1804-1810.
