Belson, Charles Philip (1774?  - 5 November 1830)

Ensign 13th Foot 1794, Lieutenant 13th Foot 1795, Lieutenant 6th West India Regiment 1795, Lieutenant 41st Foot 1796, Captain 9th Foot 1797, Captain-Lieutenant 7th Light Dragoons 1799, Captain 7th Light Dragoons 1799,  Major 3rd West India Regiment 1804,  Lieutenant Colonel 28th Foot 1804, Lieutenant Colonel 56th Foot 1816, Brevet Colonel 1812, Major General 1819.

Early Service: West Indies 1795-1797,  Helder 1799 and wounded.

Portugal & Spain: Portugal and  Spain 1808-1809 and at Corunna 1809.

Peninsular War:  Gibraltar 1811 and at Barrosa. With his regiment served in 2nd Division 1811-1814.

Other Service: Walcheren 1809. France and Flanders 1815, at Quatre Bras and temporarily commanded 8th Brigade at Waterloo.  Appointed to command 5th Brigade July 1815.
