10th Infantry Regiment 1794. Joined British Service in King’s
German Legion with temporary rank in the army 1803: Captain 1804, Major
1st Line Battalion 1804, Lieutenant Colonel 1st Line Battalion 1810,
Permanent rank in British Army 1812. Colonel in Hanoverian Service
antedated to 1814?, Major General in Hanoverian Service 1817.
Early Service: Brigade Major KGL Home Staff, Hanover 1805, Baltic
1807 and 1808,
Portugal & Spain: with his battalion Portugal 1808-1809.
Peninsular War: with his Battalion in 1st Division 1809-1814 and wounded
at Talavera July 1809.
Other Service: With Battalion in the Netherlands 1814. Commanded 4th
Brigade of the Hanoverian Reserve Corps Flanders 1815. Appointed to
command 1st Brigade KGL August 1815 and then the 1st Brigade (or 4th
Brigade?) Hanoverian Reserve Corps in September 1815. Commanded 5th
Infantry Brigade Hanoverian Army from 1816.
