Joined British Service in King’s German Legion with temporary
rank in the army 1803: Major 4th Line Battalion 1804, Lieutenant Colonel
4th Line Battalion 1807, Permanent rank in British Army 1812, Brevet
Colonel 1813.
Early Service: Hanover 1805, Baltic 1807, Sicily 1808-1812.
Peninsular War: with his regiment on the East Coast of Spain 1812-1814.
Other Service: commanded 3rd KGL Brigade in the Netherlands 1814-1815.
Commanded 1st KGL Brigade France and Flanders 1815. Died of wounds
received at battle of Waterloo 1815.
