Mitchell, Hugh Henry  (9 June 1770 - 20 April 1817 )

Volunteer, Ensign 101st Foot* 1782, Lieutenant 101st Foot* 1783, Half-pay 1785-1786, Lieutenant 26th Foot 1786, Captain 26th Foot 1795, Major 26th Foot 1804, Lieutenant Colonel 26th Foot 1805, Half-pay, Lieutenant Colonel 51st Foot 1811, Brevet Colonel 1813.

*Disbanded 1785.

Early Service: India 1782-1784,  British North America 1787-1800, Egypt 1801.

Peninsular War:  with his regiment 1811-1814. May have temporarily commanded a brigade in the 7th Division for short periods during the war.

Other Service: Commanded 4th Brigade Flanders and France and at Waterloo 1815.
