Wood, George Adam (1767 - 22 April 1831)

Son of Lieutenant Adam Wood.

Cadet Woolwich 1780, 2nd Lieutenant Royal Artillery 1781, 1st Lieutenant Royal Artillery 1790, Captain-Lieutenant Royal Artillery 1795, Captain Royal Artillery 1800, Captain C Troop Royal Horse Artillery 1801, Major Royal Artillery 1806, Lieutenant Colonel Royal Artillery 1808, Brevet Colonel 1814, Colonel Royal Artillery 1820, Major General 1825.

Early Service: Service: Gibraltar 1785-1790,  Flanders 1793-1795, West Indies 1795-1800,  Mediterranean 1806-1808. Baltic 1808.  

Portugal & Spain: Portugal and Spain 1808-1809 and Corunna 1809.

Other Service:  Walcheren 1809. Commanded artillery on the continent 1813-1814. Commanded artillery Subsidiary Army  in the Netherlands 1814-1815. Commanded artillery in Flanders and France and at Waterloo 1815. Commanded artillery Army of  Occupation France 1815-1818.
