* renumbered 7th Dragoons Guards 1788. + disbanded 1796.

Early service: West Indies 1790-1791, Acting Quartermaster-General Ireland 1791, Quartermaster-General Ireland 1792, Quartermaster-General West Indies 1793-1794 and wounded, Assistant Quartermaster-General Ireland 1795-1800 and wounded 1798, Mediterranean 1800, commanded brigade Egypt 1801-1802, Commander-in-Chief Madras Presidency 1804-1807, on staff Ireland 1807.

Portugal & Spain: Commander-in-Chief Portugal 1808-1809.

Other service: Lieutenant Governor of Gibraltar 1809, Governor of Cape of Good Hope 1811-1814.
