Barsse, Adolphus Baron (Adolph von Barsse) (1749 - 19 May 1834)

Style as Adolphus Baron Barsse only while in British Service.

Entered Hanoverian Army Lieutenant 1774, Captain 1788, Major 1794, Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel 9th Infantry Regiment 1802. Joined British Service in 2nd Line Battalion King's German Legion with temporary rank of Colonel 1804, Brigadier General on the Staff 1810,  Major General 1810. Permanent rank in British Army 1812.  Pensioned as Lieutenant General in Hanoverian Service.

Early Service: Brigade KGL Copenhagen 1807,Sicily 1812-1814.

Peninsular War: Commanded brigade on the East Coast of Spain 1812-1814.

Other Service: Italy 1814.

Colonel of the 2nd Line Battalion KGL 1804-1816.
