Blunt, Richard  (1770- 25 December 1859)

Ensign 3rd Foot 1787, Lieutenant 3rd Foot 1791, Captain 3rd Foot 1793, Major 3rd Foot 1796, Lieutenant-Colonel 3rd Foot 1799, Brevet Colonel 1809, Major General 1812, Lieutenant General 1825, General 1841.

Served in Portuguese Service 1809-1817. Promoted Brigadier 1809, Major General 1812, Lieutenant General 1814. 

Early Service: West Indies 1787-1790; Flanders 1793-1795, West Indies 1797-1802, Hanover 1805, Madeira 1807.

Portugal & Spain: Portugal 1808-1809.

Peninsular War: Commanded a brigade Portuguese Army 1809, Governor of Peniche 1809, Inspector of Recruiting Portuguese Army 1810.

Other Service: Inspector General of the Infantry Portuguese Army 1814-1817.

Colonel of  the 66th Foot 1835-1859.
