Entered Hanoverian Army Lieutenant 1779, Captain 1784, Major 1794,
Lieutenant-Colonel 2nd Infantry Regiment 1799. Joined British Service
in 6th Line Battalion King's German Legion 1804, temporary rank of
Brevet Colonel 1804, Brigadier General on the Staff 1808, permanent
rank in British Army 1812, Major General 1810. Pensioned in Hanoverian
Service 1816.
Early Service: Sicily 1807-1812.
Peninsular War: Commanded brigade East Coast of Spain 1812.
Other Service: Sicily 1807-1814. Italy 1814-1815.
Colonel of the 6th Line Battalion KGL 1804-1816.
