Fletcher, Richard (1768 -  31 August 1813)

2nd Lieutenant Royal Artillery 1788, 2nd Lieutenant Royal Engineers 1790, 1st Lieutenant Royal Engineers 1793,  Captain-Lieutenant Royal Engineers 1797, 2nd Captain Royal Engineers 1797, Captain Royal Engineers 1801, Brevet  Major 1807, Lieutenant Colonel Peninsula 1809, Lieutenant Colonel Royal Engineers 1809.  

Early service: West Indies 1791-1796 and wounded, Adjutant on Home Staff 1796-1798, Local Major in Turkey 1798-1800, Egypt 1800 and prisoner of war 1800-1802, Brigade Major on Home Staff 1802-1807, Copenhagen 1807. 

Portugal & Spain: Commanded Royal Engineers Portugal and Spain 1808-1809 and at Corunna 1809.

Commanded Royal Engineers Portugal March 1809.

Peninsular War: Commanded Royal Engineers April 1809 - April 1812 and April -  August 1813. Wounded at Badajoz  April 1812 and at San Sebastian July 1813. Killed in action at siege of San Sebastian 1813.

Knighted 1812. Created Baronet 1812.
