Barclay, Robert (29 January 1774 or 1776 - 3 May 1811)

Son of Major David Barclay.

Ensign 60th Foot 1783,Half-payEnsign 38th Foot 1789,  Lieutenant 38th Foot 1793, Captain-Lieutenant 38th Foot 1795, Captain 38th Foot 1795, Major 52nd Foot 1803, Lieutenant Colonel 52nd Foot 1806.

Early Service: West Indies 1793 - 1795 and prisoner of war, West Indies 1796-1800,  Brigade Major Home Staff 1801-1803,  Sicily with 52nd 1806-1807, Baltic 1808.

Portugal & Spain: Portugal and Spain 1808-1809 and Corunna 1809.

Peninsular War: with his regiment 1809-1810 and commanded a brigade in the Light Division August - September 1810.  Died 1811 of wounds received at Busaco 1810.
