Low, Sigismund Baron (Sigismund von Löw von Steinfurt) (7 November 1757 -  16  July 1846)

In army lists as Siegesmund Baron Low.  Styled Sigismund Baron Low only while in British Service.

Entered Hanoverian Army Ensign 1774, Lieutenant 1778, Captain 1787, Major 1794, Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel Foot Guards 1802. Joined British Service with temporary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 7th Line Battalion King's German Legion 1804, Temporary Colonel 1804,  Brigadier General on the Staff 1809, Major General 1810. Permanent rank in British Army 1812. Pensioned in Hanoverian Service 1816. Lieutenant General Hanoverian Service 1817, General Hanoverian Service 1838.

Peninsular War: Commanded brigade KGL 1st Division June 1809-May 1813.

KCB (Honourary) 1815.

Colonel-Commandant and Colonel 4th Line Battalion KGL  1809-1816.
