Millar, Charles  (17** - February 1811)

Also as Miller.

Ensign 103rd Foot* 1784, Half-pay 1784-1788, Ensign 64th Foot 1788, Lieutenant 64th Foot 1791,  Captain 64th Foot 1795,  Major 1st West India Regiment 1796, Brevet Lieutenant Colonel 1802. Retired army 1803. Temporary Lieutenant Colonel 1804 (renewed in 1807). 

*disbanded 1784

Served in Portuguese Service 1809-1811. Promoted Brigadier 1809. 

Peninsular War: Commanded brigades of the Portuguese Army 1809-1810 and commanded in the Portuguese  Militia 1810-1811. Died of illness in the Peninsula 1811.

Other Service: Inspecting Field Officer of Yeoman Cavalry and Volunteers Home Staff 1804-1808.
