Served in Portuguese Service 1810-1814. Promoted Brigadier 1810, Major
Early Service: India 1787-1807 and at Seringapatam 1799.
Peninsular War: Commanded brigades of the Portuguese Army 1810-1814. Died
of illness in the peninsula 1814.
