Wynch, James  (17** - 6 January 1811)

Cornet Horse Guards* 1779,  Lieutenant Horse Guards* 1780, Captain Horse Guards* 1786,  Captain 10th Foot 1787, Captain 36th Foot 1790,  Brevet Major 1795, Major 4th Foot 1799, Lieutenant-Colonel 4th Foot 1799, Brevet Colonel 1809.

*became Life Guards 1788.

Early Service:Helder 1799 and wounded.

Portugal & Spain: Portugal 1808 and Spain 1808-1809 and wounded at Corunna January 1809.

Peninsular War: Commanded his regiment 1810. Commanded a brigade Light Division November 1810-January 1811. Died of illness in the peninsula 1811.

Other service: On Walcheren 1809.
