Langwerth, Ernest Baron (Ernst Eberhard Kuno Langwerth von Simmern, 20 July 1757 - 28 July 1809)

Styled Ernest Baron Langwerth only while in British Service.

Entered Hanoverian Army 1769, Lieutenant 1777,  Captain 1784, Major 1795, Lieutenant Colonel Foot Guards 1799. Joined British Service in 4th Line Battalion King's German Legion 1803, Temporary rank of Colonel 1804, Brigadier General on the Staff 1808-1809. 

Early service: brigade KGL Home Staff 1805-1808. Commanded brigade KGL Sweden 1808.

Portugal & Spain: Commanded brigade KGL Portugal 1808-1809.

Peninsular War: Commanded brigade KGL April- June 1809 and brigade KGL 1st Division June - July 1809.  Killed in action at Talavera 1809.

Colonel-Commandant of the 4th Line Battalion King's German Legion 1803-1809.
