Gloucester,  HRH Prince William Frederick 2nd Duke of (15 January 1776 - 30 November 1834)

Styled as HH Prince William of Gloucester 1776-1805.

Son of  Field Marshal HRH Prince William 1st Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh. Nephew of HM King George III.

Captain & Lieutenant Colonel 1st Foot Guards 1789, Brevet Colonel 1794,  Major General 1795, Lieutenant General 1799, General 1808, Field Marshal 1816.

Service 1793-1815: Flanders 1794-1796,  on Home Staff 1795-1799,  Helder 1799,  on Home Staff 1799-1802, 1803-c.1808.

KG  1794.  GCB 1815. GCH  1815. Succeeded as 2nd Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh 1805.

Colonel of the 115th Foot 1794-1795, 6th Foot 1795-1806, 3rd Foot Guards 1806-1834.
