Hely-Hutchison, John (15 May 1757 - 29 June 1832)

Brother of  General Richard Hely-Hutchison 1st Earl of Donoughmore and Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Hely-Hutchinson.

Cornet 18th Light Dragoons* 1774, Lieutenant, Captain 67th Foot 1776, Brevet Major, Major 77th Foot+ 1781, Brevet Lieutenant Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel 77th Foot+ 1783, Brevet Colonel 1794.  Brigadier General West Indies 1795, Major General 1796, Lieutenant General Mediterranean 1801, Lieutenant General 1803, General 1813.

*disbanded 1821.  +disbanded 1783.

Service 1793-1815: Aide-de-Camp Continent 1793-1795, West Indies, Ireland 1798, Helder 1799, second in command Egypt 1801 and Commander-in-Chief 1801.

MP 1777, 1801. Lord Lieutenant Tipperary 1831-1832

KB 1801. GCB 1815. Created Baron Hutchinson 1801.  Succeeded as 2nd Earl of Donoughmore 1825.

Colonel of the 94th Foot 1794-1796, Colonel Commandant Battalion 40th Foot 1799-1802, 74th Foot 1802-1806, 57th Foot 1806-1811, 18th Foot  1811-1832.
