Sheaffe, Roger Hale (15 July 1763 -  17 July 1851)

Ensign 5th Foot 1778, Lieutenant 5th Foot 1780, Captain 5th Foot 1795, Major 81st Foot 1797, Lieutenant Colonel 49th Foot 1798, Brevet Colonel 1808, Major General 1811, Lieutenant General 1821, General 1838.

Early Service: Ireland 1781-1787.

Service 1793-1815: British North America 1787-1797,  Helder 1799, British North America 1802-1811,  in War of 1812 on staff and commanding Upper Canada 1812-1813 and  on staff Lower Canada 1813. Appointed to Home Staff 1814,  but appointment subsequently cancelled.

Created a baronet 1813.

Colonel of the 36th Foot 1829-1851

Placed on the Napoleon Series: June 2011
