Early Service: Ireland 1798, Assistant Adjutant-General Hanover 1805, Assistant Adjutant-General Home Staff 1805-1806, South America 1806-1807, Assistant Adjutant-General Home Staff 1808.

Portugal & Spain: Assistant Adjutant-General and Deputy  Adjutant- General Lisbon 1808-1809.

Peninsular War: Assistant Adjutant-General Portugal 1809-1811.

Other Service: Canada 1812-1813 and Nova Scotia 1813-1815 and War of 1812.
