Portugal & Spain: Commanded a cavalry brigade in Portugal and Spain
1808-1809 and at Corunna 1809.
Peninsular War: Commanded a cavalry brigade October 1809 - May 1813:
commanded temporarily both the 1st Cavalry Division January - March
1811 and 2nd Cavalry Division March - April 1813. Recalled from Peninsula
1813 due to his being senior to junior officers commanding a division.
Other service: On Home Staff 1809. On Home Staff 1813-1814.
GCH 1835. Created a Baronet 1831. Colonel of 5th Dragoon Guards 1831-1859.
