Eden, William (1768?-24 May 1851)

Son of 1st Baronet.

Ensign 46th Foot 1786, Lieutenant 46th Foot 1790, Captain-Lieutenant 55th Foot 1795, Captain 55th Foot 1795, Major 79th Foot 1795, Lieutenant Colonel 79th Foot 1798, Lieutenant Colonel 84th Foot 1806, Brevet Colonel 1808, Major General 1811, Lieutenant General 1821, General 1838.

Early Service: Gibraltar 1792.

Service 1793-1815: Gibraltar 1793, Assistant Quartermaster- General Flanders 1794-1795, Brigade-Major Home Staff 1795, West Indies 1795-1797, Assistant Quartermaster- General Home Staff 1797-1806, India 1807-1811 and Quartermaster- General King’s Troops and at capture of Java 1811, Home Staff 1813-1814 and appointed to command a  brigade for service in The Netherlands 1814, however, brigade never sent.
